VBC Road Commission Touts Winter Weather Road Maintenance

Seasonal help has been hired, and all Van Buren County Road Commission storage barns are stocked with road salt and sand. Engineer-Manager Lawrence Hummel says winter road maintenance has already begun in Southwest Michigan, and the high level of service will continue.


He says the superintendents carefully review weather predictions through the National Weather Service to assist staff on helping the community. The Road Commission says 20-inches of snow has already fallen in December. To combat future storms the Snow Plowing Policy of 2008 will be followed. You can view it on the Road Commission's website,
