Travel and tourism will be the topic of conversation during a formal discussion Monday in South Haven. Congressman Fred Upton, with tourism officials from Southwest Michigan and state representatives, will discuss the issues at a Michigan Tourism Roundtable at the South Haven Yacht Club. The U.S. Travel Association reports travel and tourism generated $129-billion in tax revenues in 2012. In Michigan, visitors spent about $17-billion supporting 144,000 jobs. Following the discussion and a question-and-answer period, Upton and other attendees will take a short bike ride tour to South Beach and the lighthouse. The roundtable will begin 9 a.m. Monday.
