As the East Coast recovers from the effects of Hurricane Sandy, all eyes are on FEMA to see if we have anything resembling the bungled response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Congressman Fred Upton says it looks like it's running much smoother this time around.
Two of the biggest airports serving New York City, John F. Kennedy and Newark Liberty International, have reopened. The first passenger flight to JFK arrived from Long Beach, California at around 7 a.m. Wednesday. The JetBlue flight carried 150 passengers. The first flight into Newark, New Jersey was a FedEx plane that landed a few minutes later. New York's LaGuardia Airport remains closed. Authorities are assessing the impact of the storm on the airport.
