UFCU Continues To Expand In Southwest Michigan

Ground has been broken in St. Joseph. United Federal Credit Union held a ceremony Friday to celebrate construction of a new 9,600 square-foot branch on the corner of South State Street and Midway Avenue. Congressman Fred Upton spoke about what the importance of growing and keeping local business in Southwest Michigan.



CEO Gary Easterling mentioned how the company eyed neighboring states for possible expansion.



The ceremony took place just behind UFCU's current building along South State Street. Here's Board Chairman J.B. Hoyt.



Upton went on to express his thanks.



The two-story branch will house 25 employees and cost about $3-million. It's expected to be complete in February of 2015. Just last month UFCU broke ground in Niles on a new 20,000 square-foot Operations Center which will employee 80 people.
