Tuition Rates are Increasing at SMC

Southwest Michigan College tuition rates are increasing. This week the Board of Trustees adopted a tuition and fee schedule for the 2013 fall semester. Changes include a $5.25 per contact hour increase for in-district students, the new rate represents a five percent hike. Trustees also approved a $1 per hour increase in the college's registration fee, up from $15.75. According to President Dr. David Mathews, the college is up against double-digit health insurance and retirement program cost increases.
