Three people were arrested as part of a meth bust in Van Buren County this week. The sheriffs department reports that detectives went to the Oak Tree Apartment Complex on County Road 665 in Paw Paw Township Friday to find a subject who was wanted on an outstanding felony warrant and was staying in Apartment Three-A. It turned out that all three people police found inside were wanted on warrants, and while they were being arrested, officers noticed several items in the apartment that appeared to be drug-related. A search warrant was executed, and police found several components used for the manufacturing of meth -- along with a large quantity of used syringes and some finished methamphetamine -- hidden in a speaker box and Igloo cooler. The investigation also led detectives out to the dumpster, where additional meth components and vessels were located. The three suspects -- 31 year-old Carrie Crockett, from Kalamazoo...29 year-old Richard Privett, from Pennsylvania...and 44 year-old Wayne Thornton, also from Kalamazoo -- were arrested on various charges. The case was sent on to the Van Buren County Prosecutor's office.
