Michigan Senate Democratic Leader Gretchen Whitmer is furious with at least one of her colleagues. Whitmer took to the Senate floor today to rip state Senator Rick Jones of Grand Ledge for a change in the health insurance for senators last week which eliminated all abortion coverage.
Whitmer lit into Jones for calling a public relations executive a hooker last year when he disagreed with her. She said the state Senate has returned to being an "old boys club," noting when she was first elected to that chamber in 2006, there were a dozen women in the Senate. Now, there are just a handful.
