Stabenow Renews Call For Fast Action On Asian Carp



Senator Debbie Stabenow is pushing for faster action to come up with a plan to keep Asian carp out of Lake Michigan. She was at the Cabela's store in Grandville on Thursday to talk about the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently released plan.

Stabenow wants those eight plans down to just one. She and Congressman Camp of Midland both say the proposals aren't going to move fast enough to keep the invasive fish out of the Great Lakes. They want the Great Lakes permanently separated from the Mississippi River basin by coming up with a way to close off the Chicago River system from Lake Michigan.
