The South Haven City Council this week voted to move forward with some improvements at the Northside Marina. On Monday, members agreed to hire a Grand Rapids company to demolish the old clubhouse, and begin building a new one at a cost of one point four million dollars. The project is being partly paid for with an 814 thousand dollar grant from the state, and work on the club house will begin in the fall, once the current boating season is over. City officials say that the new clubhouse -- which will feature more room, a mirrored exterior, and improved restrooms -- should be done in time for the next boating season.
