Senator Proos Latest To Blast Asian Carp Plan

A recent report from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers outlining a 25-year timetable for separating the Great Lakes from the Chicago River system is not sitting well with many Michigan politicians. State Senator John Proos of St. Joseph is among those who feel quicker action is needed.

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow and Congressman Dave Camp have also blasted the report as not going far enough, fast enough. Experts warn if invasive Asian carp get into the Great Lakes, the commercial fishing industry will be wiped out.
