SPGA Tournament Director Thrilled With This Year's Event At Harbor Shores

Everyone involved in the 75th Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid is basking in the afterglow of the past week at Harbor Shores. Tournament Director Jeff Hintz tells WSJM News everything went off without a hitch.

Listen:

The crowds appeared considerably larger over the weekend than the 2012 tournament played here. Hintz says having legends like champion Colin Montgomerie, Bernhard Langer and Tom Watson at the top all week certainly helped a great deal, along with outstanding television coverage by NBC and the Golf Channel.

Listen:

Montgomerie won at 13 under par for his first PGA victory on American soil. Hintz tells us that Monty broke tradition by stopping by the volunteer tent to thank a few hundred of the 1,900 people who spent time working the course this week.

Listen:

Work is now underway to turn Harbor Shores back into its normal shape. Hintz says construction of all the Championship structures started on April 9.

Listen:

Harbor Shores will be back open to the public later this week.
