South Haven Area Emergency Services over the weekend honored a couple of retiring firefighters for their years of service. David Henry and Donald Quinn were presented with resolutions of appreciation by State Senator Tonya Schuitmaker during the department’s annual banquet on Saturday. They were both signed by Schuitmaker, as well as State Representative Aric Nesbitt and Governor Rick Snyder. The department says that Henry had served since 1979, rising to the level of captain. Quinn started out as a firefighter in Covert, serving 25 years there, and then came to South Haven Area Emergency Services in 1994. Both retirees were honored as the department’s Firefighter of the Year, Henry in 1998 and Quinn in 2002.
