Report Ranks MI Roads By County

A new report ranks Michigan’s roads on a county by county basis, and it shows there’s a lot of work to be done in most of them. The data released this week the Transportation Asset Management Council shows that there are 20 counties in the state in which at least 50 percent of the roads are classified as being in poor shape. The worst off county in the state is Ionia, where 69 percent of the roads are in poor condition. The best, at least in the lower peninsula, is Kalamazoo County, where only 16 percent of the roads are considered to be in poor shape. Looking at southwest Michigan, 43 percent of the roads are considered to be in poor shape in Berrien County, while 43 percent are in fair shape, and 14 percent are ranked as good. Van Buren is similar, with 42 percent in poor condition, 46 percent fair, and 11 percent considered good. You can see the report below:
