A major renovation is on tap for Southwestern Michigan College in Niles. The school will spend $3 million to upgrade and expand the campus. Southwestern Michigan College President David Mathews says they're set to do a lot of work.
The first phase of construction will start after classes are done in May, with that being wrapped up by September. Mathews says phase two will start next year, and the plan is to pay for the entire project out of the general operations budget.
Mathews says the nursing program and business programs will be expanded in Niles to match offerings at the Dowagiac campus with the renovations.
