Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot will be the largest ever. Michigan Lottery spokeswoman Gretchen Villarreal says the odds of winning the entire 425-million dollar prize is one in 175.2 million, but it's been done in the state before.
The jackpot is likely to increase before Wednesday's drawing and could easily eclipse a half-billion dollars. Right now, winning it all would net you just over $278 million dollars if you take the cash option before taxes, and those who take the annuity will receive all 425-million after taxes over the course of 30 years.
