Pottawattamie Resort owner Gary Danno says he will likely rebuild after a massive fire destroyed six cabins and damaged a seventh in Hagar Shores Sunday night.
Dozens of other buildings were spared, and Danno credits the work of ten different fire departments that were called to the scene for that. He's getting a first-hand look at the destruction this afternoon. No one was hurt in the fire, and how it started hasn't been disclosed. Danno says he's been told it started inside one of the cabins and quickly spread due to the high winds. Frank Sinatra, Tony Dorsey and Tony Bennett have all performed at the resort back in its heyday, and Danno says with it being the only resort on Lake Michigan in the area, he doesn't want the fire to kill off his investment and the local history that goes with it.
