Police Report an Armed Robbery in Benton Harbor

An alleged armed robber is on the loose in Benton Harbor. Police were dispatched this morning to the 100 Block of Bellview Street where they located a taxi cab driver claiming to be the victim. The victim described the suspect as a black male, 5'10, between 180 to 190-pounds, wearing all black clothing and armed with a handgun. The cab driver was dispatched to pick up a customer, the suspect entered the cab, pulled a gun and demanded money. During a struggle, a shot was fired inside the cab. The suspect ran off with an unknown amount of money, the victim then ran away as well, no injuries were reported.
