A Kurdish immigrant facing government allegations of ties to a Turkish terror group is putting his Harbert restaurant up for sale. Ibrahim Parlak announced on Monday that uncertainty over whether he'll be deported, as well as a long delay in an extension of his work permit, finally forced him to consider selling the Cafe Gulistan:
It wasn't an easy decision:
When federal authorities began deportation proceedings against him, Parlak's green card was revoked, and he's since been running the business with a temporary work permit. However, his latest request for an extension hasn't been met with a response. Parlak said that's left too much up in the air about his situation.
