The Palisades nuclear plant is still shut down after more than a week. The plant was voluntarily shut down on June 12 due to a leak in a water tank. Spokesman Mark Savage said Friday that crews are analyzing and evaluating the problem with the tank and they haven't yet said when the expect the reactor to be turned back on. The tank in question holds water that is used for cooling the reactor. Palisades officials and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission both say there is no threat to the public or the nuclear plant from the shutdown and the leak at this point.
