PGA Of America Makes Final $75,000 Payment To Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Club of Benton Harbor and First Tee have received the final $75,000 payment from the PGA of America as part of a $300,000 pledge to help build new facilities. Brian Saxton is the Chief Professional Officer for the Boys and Girls Club locally and says the new buildings and expanded programs are making a big difference.

Through The First Tee program, kids that otherwise wouldn't have ever picked up a golf club are also being introduced to the sport. Saxton says the goal was to teach them the game and get them active, but notes there have been several who have emerged at area high schools as pretty good golfers.

The check was presented to the Boys & Girls Club on Tuesday.
