New Years Eve Chase Suspect Arraigned

The Paw Paw man who led police in a high speed chase New Years Eve is being arraigned in Paw Paw District Court. 56-year old Scott Sutherland's bond was set at $5,000 cash on charges of flee and eluding, driving with a suspended license and larceny. Monday night cops were called to the Speedway Gas Station on South Kalamazoo Street in Paw Paw, because the man pumping gas fit the description of someone who had filled up and left without paying earlier in the week. Deputies were led on a high speed chase through town before Sutherland crashed into a private residents garage. His next appearance in court is January 8th.
