State lawmakers will soon start their lame duck session, and one issue that could to come up is replacing Public Act 4, now that voters have repealed the stricter emergency manager law. State Representative Al Pscholka was asked if something could be passed before Christmas.
Before the election, Republicans like Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville had said they were getting something ready to replace the law if it were to be voted down. Until something is passed, the previous emergency financial manager law, PA 72 of 1990, remains in place.
