New Program Delivers Veggies Right To The Door In Benton Harbor

Low income residents in Benton Harbor in need of fresh fruits and vegetables to make their meals a little healthier can now get those veggies delivered right to their doors, thanks to a program of the Berrien County Health Department and Andrews University. The health department’s Nichole Britten says that the Fruit and Vegetables Delivery Club, which is offered as part of the Andrews University CFA Program, will start delivering on June 12th. If someone signs up for the Fruit and Vegetables Delivery Club can get 30 dollars of locally grown vegetables for 15 dollars. The program also offers cooking classes to help members use the items in home recipes. To find out more about signing up, contact the Berrien County Health Department at 926-7121.
