A Baroda couple is hoping to build an event hall in Stevensville. Baroda's Teri Harris came before Stevensville trustees Thursday night to get permission to buy a piece of township hill-side west of Cravings Catering off Red Arrow Highway. Harris hopes to open an event hall with her husband, Jeff Harris. She told trustees the Cravings Catering property owner has accepted the couple's bid, but she says the couple wants the adjacent land to protect the potential development's view of the lake. The couple offered the village $5,000 for property that Harris says is covered with debris and garbage. The property is valued at $8,500. The trustees passed a motion to approve the project's concept. The village also appointed a committee to negotiate with the Harris' and consult the village's attorney Dave Peterson.
