Nesbitt: Civil Rights Commission Wrong To Go To Federal Govt

State Representative Aric Nesbitt of Lawton is pushing the Michigan Civil Rights Commission to rescind its letter to the federal government trying to get funding slashed for school districts with Native American mascosts.

Listen:

Nesbitt is being joined by Representative Bob Genetski of Saguatuck in his effort. Both represent areas that could be affected, with the Saguatuck schools having the Indians moniker and Paw Paw being the Redskins. The Civil Rights Commission is asking the U.S. Department of Education to strip some federal dollars if schools don't change their mascots.
