The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is putting the hammer down on Palisades and a control room worker. The NRC's Prema Chandrathil says their latest action stems from Edward Johnson's walkout from the control room in 2010.
Chandrathil said the public was never in any danger thanks to the quick work of a supervisor to get another licensed employee into the control room. Palisades' parent company Entergy will have to incorporate the situation into all its training and issue letters to operators reminding them of their duty to keep the public safe. Johnson also has to write an article detailing what he's learned and undergo 200 hours of supervised work before he's allowed to return to the control room.
