Man Wanted In Niles Shooting Arrested

An attempted murder suspect from Niles in now in custody after being on the run since late March. The Berrien County Sheriffs Department says that 29 year old Michael Exom shot his girlfriend at a storage facility in Niles on March 22nd. She managed to get away, and got medical attention in time, but attempts to arrested Exom proved to be unsuccessful. However, on Tuesday, Exom was located and picked up at a home on the west side of South Bend, Indiana by members of the United States Marshall Service. He’s now lodged in the Saint Joseph County Jail in Indiana pending his extradition back to Michigan. The sheriffs department says that Exom is charged with assault with the intent to murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and unlawful imprisonment.
