Man Arrested After High Speed Chase In SWM Sunday

Police arrested a man in a stolen vehicle following a high-speed chase that started in Van Buren County over the weekend. Michigan State Police out of Paw Paw say that the 23 year-old suspect was southbound on I-196 when a trooper clocked him at nearly 110 miles per hour on Sunday morning. The trooper tried to pull him over and the suspect sped off, heading all the way down to Benton Township, in Berrien County, before looping back north on I-196. At one point, the suspect tried to run a Benton Township police car off the road. Police used stop sticks to disable the stolen Ford Mustang that the man was driving, and he spun out into the median. The suspect was arrested on a variety of charges, including possession of marijuana and felonious assault. His name hasn't yet been released, and he remains in the Berrien County Jail.
