Its facelift time for Southwest Michigan roads and bridges. In 2013 the Michigan Department of Transportation is investing $75.4-million in projects to upgrade our driving infrastructure. Nick Schirripa with MDOT says one of the biggest projects planned is for Berrien County, $15.5-million will be spent to repave the Eastbound lanes of I-94 from Sawyer Road to Red Arrow Highway.
That project coincides with all others planned, because none are scheduled to cause closures.
In 2013, MDOT will upgrade approximately 141-miles of pavement and 21-bridges. MDOT's Southwest Region maintains 11% of bridges and 13% of pavement under state jurisdiction.
