A new Michigan law allows soldiers serving overseas to vote in more elections via absentee ballot. State Representative Rick Outman, of Six Lakes, says that technology means there's no reason why Michiganders overseas can't access local ballots:
So, this new law lets overseas residents -- most notably military personnel -- download ballots for local elections off the Secretary of State's website and then vote absentee. Previously, Outman says, such individuals could only do something similar for the bigger, federal elections. The law took effect this year.
