LMC Trustee Renee Williams Announces Retirement

A 21 year veteran on the Lake Michigan College Board of Trustees is retiring. Renee Williams' current term expires at the end of this year, but her retirement was effective Tuesday. Williams’ relationship with LMC started over 40-years ago when she graduated from the College in 1966, went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and a master's from Western Michigan University. She was appointed to the Board in 1993 to fill an open seat, and then won election in 1994. She served as Board secretary from 1995 to 200 then again from 2011 to 2012. Board Chairman Dr. David Maysick says “her perspectives as an educator, LMC alumna, and lifelong resident of this community have been important as we have made decisions about the direction of the College." The Board of Trustees will appoint and announce a replacement for Williams within the next 30 days.
