A church in Douglas is organizing an event next month designed to package 30 thousand meals for the needy. On July seventh, volunteers will be working assembly line style to make the meals as part of the Kids Against Hunger program. Organizer Dick Brunvand, with the Community Church of Douglas. tells us that they've been doing this for a few years now, and it's getting bigger:
Ten thousand of the packaged meals will be distributed locally through Christian Neighbors in Allegan County and We Care in Van Buren County. The remaining 20 thousand will be go to areas of need in the United States and around the world. Anyone who wants to help can find contact Brunvand at dickbrunvand@gmail.com .
