I-9I-94 Accident Injures 10 Passengers Including Children




A section of I-94 is closed and 10 people are in the hospital after a single-car accident this morning. Berrien County Sheriff's Department 911 Service Specialist Dennis Sexton says a car rolled off the road between on I-94 in Bainbridge township and the crashes victims include children as young as 9. Sexton says first responders had to use the jaws of life to pull two victims from the car.

Sexton says 6 of the victims are being treated at Lakeland HealthCare in Saint Joseph and the 4 others are being treated at Watervliet Community Hospital. Watervliet's Chief Nursing Officer Bob Kruggel says 2 of the victims are stable, while 2 others are unstable and being transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Sexton says police are still trying to figure out what happened.
