Baroda Township could become a destination for people who own high-end RVs. Supervisor Jim Brow says that a development company called Kennedy Reese wants to buy the old nine-hole Meadows Family Golf Course on Shawnee Road, and turn it into a 200-lot recreational vehicle park. Brow says they're not talking about standard RVs, either -- they're thinking of three-to-four hundred thousand dollar units...and the place would be set up to match that quality. It would would be fenced in...no one under 40 would be allowed in...and no RVs older than ten years would qualify. First, the developer needs to get sewer lines installed:
If that works out, then the township would be asked to approve special zoning for the park. Brow says the developer found the area to be attractive for such a recreational vehicle park because of its proximity to Lake Michigan, the highway, and shopping spots like Saint Joseph.
