Harbor Country Woman Beaten By Burglar

A 61 year old Berrien County woman was taken to a hospital in Ann Arbor with serious injuries after police say she was attacked in her home by a burglar. Michigan State Police troopers report that, on Friday night, a white male in his 20s broke into a home in the eight thousand block of East Road in Lakeside, which is in Chikaming Township. The woman who lived there was bound and beaten by the suspect before he made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was found by relatives the next morning and then taken to a hospital. The suspect is described as being about five foot seven or eight, with a thin build and brown eyes. State police continue to investigate, and anyone with information is asked to call 683-4411.
