Governor Snyder has declared September as Preparedness Month in Michigan. To support the effort the Michigan State Police, and Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division are joining agencies nationwide to encourage households, businesses and communities to develop emergency preparedness plans. They want to raise awareness of the need for all households to be self-reliant for at least three days. You can do so by having a dedicated supply of food, water, and medication in case of disaster, when critical services could be significantly delayed.
