Gas Prices Shooting Up To $3.99 For Regular

Hold on to your wallet! Gas prices are shooting up across Michigan and Indiana. GasBuddy.com analyst Patrick DeHaan says wholesale prices had remained steady since retail prices went up to $3.95 last week, meaning stations were still paying the same price even as we were paying about 30-cents less before today's jump to $3.99.

Listen:

Prices were as low as $3.62 in Stevensville, with the lowest price in South Haven before the spike being $3.69. The jump of as much as 37-cents a gallon locally puts us on the verge of a price DeHaan says gas stations are trying to avoid.

Listen:

Even with the latest jump, we're still considerably lower than a year ago. Prices at this time last year statewide averaged $4.25.
