Galien Man Arrested, Charged With Attempted Murder For Running Down Victim In Car

An intoxicated Galien man is in jail and charged with two counts of attempted murder after allegedly running down two people with his car in Three Oaks. Berrien County Sheriff's Deputies reported Tuesday morning to an apartment complex on Locust Street where 23 year old Brock Thompson was swinging a baseball bat at a group of people. When deputies arrived he got into a car and sped away, leading them on a pursuit south of town. Thompson lost control on Martin Road near Basswood and crashed. Turns out he had been smashing out car windows with the bat and assaulted two victims at the apartment complex. Thompson also ran down a person with his car, striking them with the front end of it. He's lodged in the Berrien County jail facing a number of charges.
