Lakeland Hospital is offering free prostate cancer screenings this week. Terri Albers of the Margaret Beckley Upton Center for Health Enhancement says there are two groups of men who should get screened.
The first will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeside Urology on St. Joseph Drive in St. Joseph, followed by another at Lakeside Urology in Niles on Thursday at the same time. The screenings include a rectal exam and test to measure prostate-specific antigens in the blood, which often can detect the cancer earlyThe screenings are aimed at men who don't have health insurance.
