State Senator John Proos is reminding Michigan residents that this weekend is Winter Free Fishing Weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday, February 16th and 17th, mark the first of two fishing weekends this year. The summer weekend is scheduled for June 8th and 9th.
Michigan offers more than 3,000 miles of Great Lakes shoreline, more than 11,000 inland lakes and upwards of 36,000 miles of rivers and streams. During the weekend all fishing license fees will be waived, but all regulations still apply. More information can be found at Michigan.gov/FreeFishing.
