A former Christian radio host and traffic reporter in Grand Rapids is facing 15 to 50 years behind bars for the sexual assault of a 12-year-old boy in Kalamazoo in April. John Balyo was fired by WCSG radio and Cornerstone University after his arrest earlier this summer at a Christian music festival in northern Michigan. Balyo pled guilty in federal court in Grand Rapids on Tuesday to producing and possessing child pornography. He is still facing other criminal charges in Battle Creek for another alleged rape of a young boy. Balyo was caught in the investigation of the man who was allegedly arranging the trysts. In addition to his work on radio in Grand Rapids, he was also a professional photographer and police have been trying to determine if he molested or abused any of his clients through that line of work.
