High winds and humidity hindered the efforts of Bridgman Firefighters yesterday (Sunday), called to put out a grass fire in the dunes at Weko Beach. With assistance from Lake, Baroda and Chikaming Townships, it took firefighters about an hour and a half to bring the blaze under control. Some trees and part of the boardwalk were damaged, but nobody was hurt and they're not sure how the fire started.
