"There continues to be nothing indicating the fire is suspicious in anyway." That's part of a report from the Michigan State Police Fire Investigation Unit regarding a Three Oaks house fire which claimed four victims during the morning hours of February 6. An on-scene investigation determined the fire originated in the kitchen or the storage room off of the kitchen. Due to the extensive amount of damage, they were unable to narrow the point of origin any further or determine the exact cause of the fire. 77-year old Orville Kiernan, his 76-year old wife Leota, their 20-year old granddaughter Anna Peek, and her 19-year old boyfriend Kyle Tyler were killed in the blaze. Police say the home did not have working smoke detectors.
