Emergency Loan Vote Postponed Until Wednesday



Tonight's Benton Harbor City Commission meeting has been postponed until Wednesday night, so too has the vote on a proposed emergency loan from the state. The loan, which would consolidate all existing debt, would be paid over 15-years at an extremely low interest rate. Mayor James Hightower calls it a smart business decision.

Back in November, the Commission voted the proposal down 5-3. The emergency loan would cover the city's $2.2-million worth of debt. Wednesday's meeting is planned for 7 p.m. in City Hall.
