An Elkhart man will be in prison in Michigan for at least the next decade. Donald Cupery was sentenced earlier this month for a pair of Royalton Township home invasions. The "Herald Palladium" reports the 41-year-old learned his fate on December 6 from Berrien County Trial Court Judge Charles LaSata. Cupery broke into two homes during the day on May 22 and was arrested the same day when a sheriff's deputy pulled him over near a Berrien Springs gas station. For one robbery, Cupery was given 10 to 20 years and received a concurrent sentence of up to 15 years for the second break-in. In the first, someone was home and the woman locked herself in a room and called 911 when she didn't recognize the man at her front door.
