East Lansing Church Adopts Resolution For Edward Pinkney

An East Lansing church is calling for an independent investigation of all charges against activist Edward Pinkney. James Anderson from Edgewood United Church read a resolution Monday to the Benton Harbor City Commission .

He says Pinkney is a friend of the church and has helped educate the congregation regarding the use and abuse of emergency manager laws. Anderson says the resolution has been adopted unanimously at a recent meeting of the Justice and Peace Task Force. Pinkney currently faces five misdemeanor charges and one felony related to a recall effort of Benton Harbor Mayor James Hightower.
