The lawyer who guided Chrysler through bankruptcy is now tasked with turning around the city of Detroit. Governor Snyder has recommended Kevyn Orr to be the emergency financial manager of Michigan's largest city.
Snyder called on the Detroit City Council to start working with his administration, Orr, and Mayor Dave Bing. The governor noted Detroit's financial woes are 50-plus years in the making and can't be fixed without collaboration. Mayor Bing said for the state to be healthy economically, it needs a healthy Detroit.
