Some of the structures at Lions Park Beach will be getting a face lift soon, thanks in part to the City of St. Joseph. At Monday night's meeting the city commission approved a construction bid from Fiskars Construction. Director of Public Works Derek Perry said the current structures date back to the 1980's.
The low bid was just over $258,000. A major chuck of the project is being funded by a $247,100 grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The total cost of the project is $353,050. The city will spend 105,950 of its general fund dollars on the work.
