Coloma Schools Will Likely Give Land To City

Coloma is trying to turn a piece of school property into an emergency exit for a nearby subdivision. The city needs an 18-foot-wide plot to build an emergency exit for the Coloma Heights housing subdivision. The property is off Red Arrow Highway across from Coloma High School. Currently the subdivision only has one entrance and exit. The Herald Palladium reports school officials weren't too keen on the idea earlier this year, but new discussions point to future cooperation. City Commissioner Bill Smith says the city is still looking into the idea.
