Car Hits Building in Benton Harbor

There is a hole in the side of a building in Benton Harbor, no thanks to a drunk driver Thursday night. State Police attempted to stop a vehicle in Benton Township just after 11:00, the 38-year male from Benton Harbor sped off into the City of Benton Harbor. The driver disregarded multiple stop signs and was unable to handle a curve in 800 block of Union Street near Empire. The driver lost control and stuck two buildings, coming to rest inside the second. The driver was injured and transported to the hospital. Alcohol was a factor in the crash, the driver faces charges of OWI, Possession of Controlled Substances and fleeing police.
